Privacy policy

In short: this site requires no registration and stores no cookie or identifier on your device. Calculations run entirely in your browser and never leave it. We measure visits with Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode: Google receives aggregated measurement pings that don't link one visit or page to another, including your IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location — this is not anonymous measurement, even though it happens without a cookie. No advertising cookies are used.

Data controller

This site is a free net-pay calculator for Estonia. It is operated and maintained by desymphony. The data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the site operator; the official business name and address will be published here once the operator has confirmed it. What data is processed

Using the calculator needs no account and no registration, and we ourselves do not collect or store any data that would directly identify you — not your name, your personal identification code, your email address, or the amounts you type into the calculator. Every calculation runs in your browser; your inputs never reach our server and are not stored anywhere permanently.

As with any website, the hosting provider may process technical connection data in the server logs temporarily (for example, a shortened IP address, the browser type and the time of the request) where this is needed for the secure and stable operation of the site. This data is not used to identify individual visitors and is not combined with other data sources.

Purpose and legal basis

Processing is carried out under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Estonian Personal Data Protection Act. Technically necessary operations — running the site and remembering your language-choice preference — rely on the legitimate interest of providing a reliable and secure service. The same is true of cookieless visit measurement: the site shows no consent banner because nothing that would require consent is ever stored — no analytics cookie or identifier reaches your browser. Google Analytics 4 measurement therefore relies on legitimate interest in providing and improving a free service, not on your consent.

Cookies

The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies: Google Analytics 4 runs in cookieless mode and the tag itself writes no identifier to your device. On an ordinary visit the only thing stored in your browser’s local storage is a technically necessary marker of your language-choice preference, so the language suggestion does not reappear after you dismiss it. One exception is added only if you ask for it: the gr_int flag, our own exclusion for internal visits, written only when you open a page with ?internal=1 appended — as a cookie with a lifetime of one year, and additionally in local storage — and read by the measurement code on every page view. On an ordinary visit nothing is written; you delete it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. The full breakdown is on the Cookies page. Since no cookie is set, there is nothing separate to delete — you can clear your browser’s local storage at any time in its settings if you'd like.

Analytics: Google Analytics 4

Use of the site is measured with Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, USA), the site's one third party. Measurement is cookieless and aggregated: no analytics or advertising cookie is written to your browser, and no identifier is stored that would let you be linked across visits or pages. Instead, Google receives, with each measurement ping, data such as the page URL, the referrer, your device and browser type, and your IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location (typically city- or region-level accuracy). That means Google receives personal data — an IP address is personal data under the GDPR even when we ourselves never store it. No advertising cookies or ad network are used. The site shows no consent banner because nothing that would require consent is ever stored; that is a consequence of your default-denied consent preference, not an oversight. Google acts as a processor for this data and may process it outside Estonia, including outside the European Economic Area. More information and settings:

Google AdSense or any other advertising service is not used at present. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before it does.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have, in particular, the following rights in relation to the data controller:

• Access — to find out whether, and which of, your personal data is being processed.
• Rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected.
• Erasure — to have your data deleted.
• Restriction and objection — to object to processing or have it restricted.
• Data portability — to receive your data in a common format or have it transferred.

Because we ourselves do not collect data that would directly identify you, our processing is in practice very limited. For the IP address and the location derived from it through Google Analytics 4, you can also exercise your rights through Google's tools. You can delete or block any cookies set at any time in your browser.

Do not send personal payroll data

Please do not email us the personal details from your payslip or pay statement — no name, personal identification code or exact amounts. An example figure is enough for a ballpark estimate, and the site does not collect or store that data in any case.

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data-protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:
